After a little over half a year designing and learning about a dozen different layouts, I found one that is significantly more comfortable than Dvorak or Colemak and blows qwerty away.
The three features, I think, most responsible for this comfort are: -The left hand uses the same inward angle that works so well for the right hand (any layout can achieve this by moving two keys around).
-When the little fingers are used in sequence, the pinkie almost always follows the ring (d-s and c-h are far more common than s-d and h-c).
-Changing rows when typing two characters with one hand is kept to a near minimum (close to half that of other optimized boards).
And I almost forgot, it feels very good to have 'E' on the right index finger.
